Math
Kindergarten: Standard 2
Students will use the “time and money” feature on Todo Math. With this feature the students will be able to practice telling time. They will recognize the difference between a.m. and p.m. The teacher will pass out paper clocks and the students will pick their favorite time of the day, draw the arms on the clock, and then write a little description as to why that is their favorite part of the day.
K.M.2: Understand concepts of time, including: morning, afternoon, evening, today, yesterday, tomorrow, day, week, month, and year. Understand that clocks and calendars are tools that measure time.
This app allows students to enhance their math skills and have fun! There are many aspects of this app including; counting and cardinality, number operations, mathematical reasoning, time and money and geometry. There are so many different activities for every type of learner. Teachers and parents are able to customize settings and monitor their kid/students progress.
Sterberg's triarchic theory applies to this app in a sense of having some assignments apply to the student's personal lives. When the student's figure out how to tell the time of day it is purely for education. BUT when you add in having them tell you your favorite time of day then it allows them to remember the time a little better because it applies to his/her personal life.
