2nd Grade: Standard 2

 

Students will be grouped in pairs. This assignment will be called “Study Partners.” Each student will get with their partner and create a group of vocabulary cards using their definitions and an example sentence. Once they have gone through each word that was given to them then they will be able to join my classroom and quiz one another with the questions the teacher has listed on the Socrative Student app and complete the sentences. This will allow them to practice before their very important vocabulary quiz.

 

2.RV.2.5: Consult reference materials, both print and digital (e.g., dictionary), to determine or clarify the meanings of words and phrases.

 

Students are prompted to use this app and join the teacher’s room via the teacher’s unique code. There, is a bunch of questions so the students are able to quiz themselves before an important test or quiz.

 

Bloom's taxonomy's six cognitive processes will help each student get through this activity. Students are to create vocabulary cards that them and their partner has put together, remember the information, understand and analyze the material, and apply it to the upcoming quiz/test.
