 2nd Grade: Standard 2

 

Students are to work on Splash Math as one of their stations. Students will split up in groups and complete 3 stations every Friday. The first station will be the Splash Math app. In the Splash app they will go to the adding/ subtracting within 20, adding/ subtracting, and move their way up until their time is up for that station. The second station will be working with the teacher. The teacher will teach a quick lesson on their math curriculum for that day. The third station will be individual work. The kids will have a math worksheet that they will start on and if they do not finish it, it will be homework.

 

 2.CA.2: Solve real-world problems involving addition and subtraction within 100 in situations of adding to, taking from, putting together, taking apart, and comparing, with unknowns in all parts of the addition or subtraction problem (e.g., by using drawings and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem). Use estimation to decide whether answers are reasonable in addition problems.

 

Splash Math is a fun and easy way to sharpen student’s math skills! They are able to click on their grade- level and look through their curriculum. Learners are able to learn about place value, number sense, money, measurements, data, geometry, time, adding/subtracting within 20, adding/ subtracting within 100 and adding/ subtracting within 1,000. There is a separate app for every grade-level between Kindergarten through 5th grade.
